As fans, it’s hard to figure out what Netflix are going to do sometimes.
A show you adore that has great buzz will get axed after a season or two, whilst something you’ve never heard of will go on for nine seasons and two terrible movies.
Despite this, fans were confused when one of Netflix’s most successful shows from the last few years was seemingly set to only get one more season.

Fear not though, because the show-runners have come out and responded to fan fears.
3 Body Problems is far and away one of the biggest successes on Netflix this year, racking up 81,000,000 viewing hours in just a week when it released in March.
Despite this, a recent statement on the show being renewed had fans panicking that it had been cancelled.

The show’s creators said in a statement: “We’re thrilled that we get to tell this story through to its epic conclusion.
"Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we hoped we’d be able to bring the audience to the end of the universe with us. Here we go!"
The news shocked fans – as it seemed to imply that the series would only be getting one more season before concluding.

The book series the show is based on is a trilogy, and would be near impossible to complete in full with just the one more season.
Thankfully, creators David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo have clarified they’re being given more than enough episodes to finish the story.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, D.B. Weiss said: “We knew going into this how many hours we need to tell the rest of the story because we’ve got a roadmap through to the end.
“And we have what we need to get to the end as intended from when we started.”

David Benioff added: “By the time we finish with the show, it will be seven years we’ve devoted to it.
“We’re now at a place where we get to tell the rest of the story, and, yes, we have enough time to tell the rest of the story the way we want to and that’s immensely gratifying.”
As well as this, The Hollywood Reporter stated that, whilst the trio didn’t specify a number of seasons, they reportedly emphasised it was indeed for more ‘seasons’ plural.

Phew.
With a respectable 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, massive fan acclaim, and being based on a beloved book series – everyone can agree that the show deserves to be told to the end.
