An expert has revealed if subscribing to an OnlyFans account while in a relationship is cheating.
With an average of 420 million monthly users and over two million content creators, it's no secret that the platform is becoming increasingly prominent in the adult film industry.
OnlyFans' net revenue for 2022 was a whopping $2.5 billion and the London-based company shows no signs of slowing down.

Some of its top earners rake in hundreds of thousands a month and even non-celebrities can comfortably earn a good living alongside their day job.
However, the idea of OnlyFans being a form of cheating has been explored by Silva Neves, a relationship and psychosexual therapist.
Why people in relationships may use OnlyFans
OnlyFans allow its users, who pay a monthly fee, to engage with creators directly on the platform, via message requests and video links, which usually cost extra.

But after all, sexual fantasies and unconventional quirks are embraced by most OnlyFans creators, who have admitted to getting the odd 'over-the-top' request.
“Fantasy is crucial for our mental health,” Neves explained to Bustle.
“Engaging in fantasy-forward content opens possibilities for erotic expression.”
Like with porn, OnlyFans can be consumed as a form of escapism, but could it be a concern when you're in a relationship?

Is subscribing to OnlyFans while in a relationship a form of cheating?
Cheating will forever be a controversial topic due to the lack of a proper definition.
For some, cheating is sleeping with another person while in a relationship. Meanwhile, others believe that having friends who are of the opposite sex is a no-go.

Ultimately, Neves says that it depends on what 'counts' as cheating as there’s no objective standard.
“What constitutes cheating depends on the specific agreement of the relationship,” Neves noted.
“For some couples watching porn may be cheating, but not for others.”
How to talk to your partner about OnlyFans
Just asking the question can be tough enough, Neves says, as most people struggle to bring up the topic.

“Are you watching custom porn when you masturbate?” can be an uncomfortable question to ask, but it's all about being open.
If you don't like your partner watching porn or subscribing to an OnlyFans page, then it might be worth mentioning that to them.
It's all about being comfortable with what your partner is doing, and coming to an agreement on what works best for the both of you.
As always, communication is key.
