After one of his jokes caused a global media storm at this year's Oscars, a clip has resurfaced of Chris Rock brutally mocking Jeff Bezos and his ex-wife from the 2020 academy awards. Have a listen for yourselves:
The comedian was slapped by Will Smith in front of the watching world last month when his joke about Smith's wife - Jada Pinkett Smith - seemingly angered the King Richard star.

However, some people are now claiming that Rock is no stranger to risque jokes and was lucky to avoid similar repercussions following his co-hosting monologue at the 2020 Oscars.
While introducing the esteemed guests in attendance, the comedian turned his attention to Jeff Bezos, the former world's richest man and founder of Amazon.
Back then, Bezos was fresh out of a long-term partnership with ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, which led Rock to joke about the divorce settlement - and the impact it might have on the businessman's wealth.

"Like, Jeff Bezos is so rich, he got divorced and he's still the richest man in the world," Rock joked back in February 2020.
"He saw Marriage Story and thought it was a comedy."
While the joke did make headlines back then, Bezos was clearly seen laughing at the joke in the audience, meaning he took it pretty well... a huge contrast to Smith's reaction last month, to which the consequences are still being felt today.
A resurfaced clip of the Everybody Hates Chris creator telling his Bezos joke has gone viral over the last few days, accumulating almost 900k likes on TikTok.

Much of the reaction to the upload has been around how calm Bezos remained, despite his very private divorce being brought up by the comic.
"Jeff Bezos is most infamously known for being chill about his divorce," one user replied.
According to The Times, Bezos' ex-wife received $38 billion in the divorce settlement, with $4.2bn of that going towards charitable causes.

The billionaire has since began a relationship with media personality Lauren Sanchez, having been married to Scott for 15 years prior.
And in more Bezos-related news, the Amazon-founder is no longer the richest person on the planet - a change that had nothing to do with the divorce settlement amount.
The crown has instead gone to Tesla and Space X chief Elon Musk, who is worth an estimated $280bn as of April 2022.
The South African recently became the majority stakeholder in Twitter, following an ongoing feud with the social media platform over its terms of service.

Bezos, meanwhile, has maintained a personal wealth of over $200bn. Still not too shabby, I'd say.
