After watching Ming-Na Wen in action as Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, fans have been stunned to find out how old she is, saying she ‘does not look her age’.

Wen plays the mercenary and assassin in both the Star Wars series and its spin-off, having featured alongside Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett since 2020.

She’s also previously been known for playing the titular hero in Mulan, Melinda May in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and as Dr Deb Chen in ER – to name just a few.

But despite decades of high profile acting credits, it’s her recent success in the Star Wars TV shows that has led to a bit of a mind-blown moment for fans.

Posting a screengrab of Wen in action in The Mandalorian, one Reddit user wrote last year: “TIL [Today I Learnt] Ming Na Wen is 57 years old. I do not understand genetics.”

Of course, she has since turned 58, but the sentiment still stands – and appears to be a fairly universal revelation.

One other stunned fan commented: “Wait, what?”

Another said: “What??? 57????????? what kind of sorcery is this?”

A third added: “Make-up and lighting helps, but yeah... she does NOT look her age.”

Another said they thought she was in her ‘30s’, while someone said it was ‘like she found the cheat codes’.

One person also wrote: “Her and Bo Katan must have the same skin care routine damn.”

Ahead of the season finale of The Book of Boba Fett, which airs on 9 February, Wen recently spoke about what fans can expect as the series wraps.

Asked how she hopes fans will feel by the time the season ends, Wen told the Radio Times: "I really hope that they want to go back and see the whole thing over again in a different light after, you know, knowing how things have - I'm so careful with my words here, how things have evolved, and all these other elements that have come into play.

"You know, that's what's so great with [producers] Jon [Favreau] and Dave [Filioni]. They are so knowledgeable about this world, about Star Wars, and they're such huge fans that they know how to set up the pieces and make moves that you don't even know are coming."

She continued: "And then suddenly it's like [claps her hands together] ooh, checkmate. So yeah, we're waiting. We're waiting for that win. We're waiting for that hit.

"And not just 'til the very last episode, like each and every episode there's new moves and new elements that come into play that hopefully will surprise the fans. I know it surprised me."
