Piers Morgan proved a point in true Piers Morgan fashion - by eating a steak in front of a vegan activist.

Before tucking into his on-screen entrée, he managed to slip a few insults in there for good measure. Take a look:

The stunt was part of a segment reacting to the spate of demonstrations made by Animal Rebellion in recent weeks.

After pouring milk on supermarket floors, the vegan protestors headed to Salt Bae's London restaurant, only to later be carried out by staff.

Discussing the issue on a Sky News Australia segment, the TV host invited Animal Rebellion spokesperson Nathan McGovern and celebrity chef Aldo Zilli onto the show for a nice, healthy debate... just kidding.

Piers started off by telling Nathan: "I think you all look pretty pasty faced and unhealthy to me."

He continued: "What I don't do is I don't go running into vegan restaurants and start screaming abuse at you all and have to be pulled out by people because you're ruining everyone's fun."

Nathan tells the host he's started with an 'absolute blinder' before going on to discuss precision fermentation, which the spokesperson claims is capable of creating animal protein using a 'fraction of the land' and 'carbon footprint'.

But Piers stands by his word, interjecting: "But I like eating meat."

Dig in, Piers.

The pair enjoy an exchange whereby the host questions what Nathan eats, to which he explains: "I love seasonal British fruit and veg.

"You know, I love supporting British farmers. I love going to the farmers market, seeing what they have to offer."

Piers then turns his attention to Aldo to ask how he feels about the Nusr-Et steakhouse protest, which unfolded last weekend.

The chef pointed out that he 'opened one of the first vegetarian restaurants in London's Soho', adding: "I don't have any problems with vegan, veganism and vegetarian people."

He added: "So I don't understand when it gets out of hand that these people have to disrupt our business."

Piers and Aldo then question why vegan protest groups choose to target restaurants and public places before the host says: "None of you make me want to change my mind.

"I just think one annoying little squits honestly, I do."

As the debate continues, Piers then whacks out a steak dinner and begins to tuck in, generating laughs from both guests.

"Here's my point," he says. "I love eating steak. I'm not going to stop eating steak. And the very last thing on earth that will stop eating steak is people like you with your pasty faces running into our restaurants and telling us to stop eating steak."

"That is absolutely fine, Piers," says Nathan.

After more back and forth, the host makes another point: "If you want to win an argument, you just can't be annoying all the time."

Well, guess it was a point well made? Or a case of the pot calling the kettle black...
