Excellent news for ‘Predator’ fans - the latest instalment into the franchise, ‘Prey’, will be available to stream for the first time ever exclusively on Disney+ on August 5.

A prequel to the first four films in the series, ‘Prey’ is set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago and tells the story of a young woman named Naru, a fierce and highly-skilled warrior.

Played by Amber Midthunder, who fans may recognise from series such as Legion and Roswell, Naru learns that the prey she is stalking is in fact a highly evolved alien with a technologically advanced arsenal.

As a descendant of some of the most legendary hunters in the wilds of North America, when danger threatens Naru’s tribe she knows she must protect her people by whatever means necessary. Midthunder shines as our new favourite heroine in this unique story that feels like something close to Predator meets The Revenant.

The gripping, action-packed blockbuster also stars Blackstone star Michelle Thrush and the former professional basketball player Dane DiLiegro. The film was directed by Dan Tratchenberg who has also directed episodes of The Boys and Black Mirror, as well as the lauded 2016 thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane so you know it’s in good hands.

The film premiered at San Diego Comic Con last week and the consensus from the lucky few who got to watch it seems to be that this is definitely not one to be missed.

August 5th literally cannot come fast enough if you ask us - in the meantime, why not get yourself pumped by checking out the trailer below?
