Prince Harry says he ate mushroom chocolates and downed tequila at Courteney Cox's house

The Duke of Sussex has described the events in a memoir

What do you think celebrities get up to at each other's houses? Maybe online shop for ridiculously expensive things us average joes wouldn't think twice about? Or enjoy meals cooked by gourmet chefs brought in specially for the occasion?

Monica Gellar would probably love the latter, but apparently things got much more wild when Prince Harry ended up at the home of her real-life counterpart, Courteney Cox.

The Duke of Sussex has been making headlines today (6 January) as a result of his new book, Spare, which is set to hit shelves next week.

In an excerpt of the book cited by Us Weekly, Harry is said to have described how he found himself at Cox's house after attending a party at the home of his friend Thomas' girlfriend.

Cox wasn't home at the time, with the book claiming that she was 'traveling, on a job, and didn’t mind if we crashed at her place'.

Admitting that he was a 'Friends fanatic' at the time, Harry is said to have described the 'idea of crashing at Monica’s' as 'highly appealing. And amusing'.

Cox did come back to the home and insisted there was 'plenty of room' for everyone to stay - much to Harry's delight, as he actually had a small crush on the actor.

"I was still confused because … she was Monica. And I was a Chandler,” the excerpt reads, adding: “I wondered if I’d ever work up the courage to tell her [about the crush]. Was there enough tequila in California to get me that brave?”

During the evening, Harry claimed to have spotted in the fridge 'a huge box of black diamond mushroom chocolates'.

The psychedelics were said to be 'for everybody' at the party, so, he recalled: "My mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila."

He described the effects of the drugs by recounting an experience he had in the bathroom, when he watched a bin turn into a 'head' as he looked at it.

"I stepped on the pedal and the head opened its mouth,” he wrote. “A huge open grin. I laughed.”

Harry is said to have encouraged a friend to try the bathroom experience for themselves, though they ended up mistaking his puffer jacket for a 'dragon' and panicking while alone in the toilet.

“My delightful trip had been his hell,” Harry wrote in the memoir. “How unfortunate. How interesting.”

LADbible has reached out to a representative for Cox for comment.
