Weiss, best known for his role in Disney's The Mighty Duck series, has been opening up in recent years about his experiences with addiction.

In a recent stand up set at the Mic Drop Comedy Club in San Diego, the former child star joked about his addictions to meth and heroin.
The 44-year-old said: "It was rough.
"I don't know if you saw that: child actor arrested for burglary.
"I was very disappointed in myself… I didn't even wear a disguise. What the hell? Come on, Goldberg, you can do better than that."

Rounding back to the mug shot taken after his January 2020 arrest for burglary, Weiss didn't pull any punches.
He said: "I'll tell you, they're not using any Instagram filters down there at the station.
"This photo was rough. You know you look bad when your drug dealer doesn't want to be seen in public with you. That's when you should reassess things."

Weiss celebrated three years of sobriety on 25 January as he announced the milestone on Instagram.
In the caption of his post, he wrote: "3 Yrs ago, today, I was in jail. I asked the deputy if he would 'Please shoot me'.
"He urged me to 'Stay positive, Goldberg'. Thanks, you guys for holding me down. Is that still a saying??"
'Goldberg' is a reference to the character that made Weiss famous - Greg Goldberg, the goalkeeper of the hockey team in The Mighty Ducks.

In his set, Weiss expanded on the lengths he went to support his addiction as he resorted to stealing.
He said: "You don't have a drug problem until you run out of money, right?
"That's where drugs will take you.. I got a court ordered anti theft course that I had to take, it was $450, but I figured out how to get it for free.
"What did they expect?"
In a September 2022 interview, Weiss said that it was difficult to see photos of himself while he was an addict.

He explained: "This is a very serious problem… I was in horrible shape.
"I was probably going to die if those sheriff's deputies didn't step in and save me."
At the time Weiss was arrested, he had lost his teeth, only weighed 96 pounds and his hair was infested with insects.
Before his arrest, the actor hadn't appeared in a film for twelve years.
After achieving sobriety, he landed a role in Jesus Revolution, which was released in February of this year.
