Jackass legend Steve-O has recounted the absolutely heatbreaking way he found out about the death of co-star Ryan Dunn.
Dunn died in a car crash in the early hours of the morning of 19 June, 2011 after his vehicle veered off a road in Pennsylvania, with a toxicology report finding him to be more than twice the state's legal limit for alcohol in his blood.
The passenger in his vehicle, Jackass production assistant Zachary Hartwell, also died in the tragic crash.

Dunn's death was a deep loss for his Jackass friends and co-stars, who still regularly pay tribute to his memory more than a decade after his death.
The cast dedicated Jackass Forever to Dunn's memory, saying they hoped he was looking down on it with approval and going the extra mile to pay tribute to their friend.
Speaking on the In Depth with Graham Bensinger podcast, Jackass stuntman Steve-O remembered the heartbreaking way he found out his friend had died.

He said: "My phone rang at five or six in the morning and I woke up and it was someone from TMZ asking for a comment about Ryan Dunn's death, which f***ing sucks.
"I can't fault that person because they had my number, it was their job to do that. I'm not mad at them for that."
He covered a whole range of topics in the interview, which is available to watch in full, and spoke very openly about the experience of losing his friend.
Steve-O said Dunn's death had 'hit all of us' and remembered the last time he saw his friend, on Guy Fieri's Minute to Win It show, recounting that Dunn 'had the shakes' during rehearsal.

He said he remembered his friend 'had to go have a couple of drinks' before going on camera and was met with the honest admission from Dunn that he was an alcoholic.
The Jackass star said it was 'just f***ing sad' to have lost his friend, and admitted his first reaction to the news was 'selfish' as he thought Dunn 'f***ing went and died on us', which he later said he thought was a 'pretty pathetic and sad' way to react.
While they may have had an amazing time together making Jackass, Steve-O did recently admit that the show and movies were a 'legitimately bad influence' on kids who grew up watching the team pull off (or painfully fail trying) all sorts of crazy stunts.

Some of Steve-O's craziest moments include covering his body with a swarm of bees and going swimming with sharks with a hook in his mouth.
