Some people are so used to seeing Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers in Stranger Things, they're only just discovering he's actually from Leeds and his accent is surprising the fans:
As you can see, not only does the 28-year-old not have a Midwestern American accent, but he doesn't have a Leeds one either.

No, much like his co-star Millie Bobby Brown, he appears to speak the Queen's English, which perhaps could've been accentuated by the need to adapt for his Hollywood career.
Whatever the case, fans of the hit Netflix sci-fi show are still only just discovering this fact.
Having starred in all four seasons of Stranger Things so far, Heaton's flawless American twang has convinced people that he must be from Indiana himself.
So every time he takes to the red carpet or gets involved in press interviews, a slew of new followers are shocked to discover that Heaton is as British as tea and crumpets.

During the premiere for the latest season earlier this year, the star opened up about a series of developments within the show, including the heartwarming suggestion that Argyle (Eduardo Franco) is Jonathan's 'safe space'.
But fans were too busy focusing on his accent, with one writing: "Just found out he's British."
Elsewhere on Twitter, another said: "JUST FOUND OUT CHARLIE HEATON HAD A BRITISH ACCENT MY WHOLE LIFE IS A LIE."

"I swear I've watched him in interviews with an American accent," wrote one. "What????"
"Brits do the best American accents tbh, said another, to which a commenter replied, "Can't even tell so flawless at it uno!!"
Although his accent is described as 'flawless' by many, Heaton previously revealed that there was one word in particular that was hard to nail - and it's quite an important one.
In the behind the scenes book Stranger Things: Worlds Turned Upside Down, he said: "This [was] my first major role with an American accent, and it went pretty smoothly."

But the word he couldn't pronounce in the Midwestern dialect was 'Nancy', aka the name of Jonathan's girlfriend who is portrayed by his real life partner Natalia Dyer.
"It ended up being a joke with the crew," he added. "The forest scene where Jonathan is running around the woods screaming, 'Nancy' - I couldn't say it."
Thankfully he got there in the end, which was no doubt a relief for the cast and crew.
