Stranger Things fans have been left terrified and panicking over a glimpse at one particular scene in the new trailer for the upcoming episodes. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out for yourself below:

Anyone who's seen Volume 1 of series four will know the creators of Stranger Things really stepped up the fear factor for the latest episodes, and if the trailer is anything to go by the intensity is definitely set to continue.

With three weeks to go before Volume 2 arrives on Netflix on 1 July, fans were more than welcoming of the new trailer which arrived today (9 June) and offered us an insight of what's to come.

It looks like we'll be introduced to a new form of horror thanks to Hopper's discovery of a smoke-like substance locked up in a tank and unsurprisingly, we're not finished with Vecna yet.

In fact, it's because of the creepy man-demon that fans were left terrified after watching the trailer, because it appears to show that he's got his tentacles around the beloved character of Robin.

The new trailer appears to show Robin trapped by Vecna.

The scene goes by in a flash, and is frustratingly dark due to the creepy nature of the upside down, but a still of the trailer appears to show Robin trapped by tentacles in a similar way to some of the characters we've unfortunately previously lost throughout the series. RIP, Barb.

Sharing a screenshot of the image on Twitter, one horrified person wrote: "WHAT IS THIS STRANGER THINGS".

The image of Robin apparently trapped by tentacles has left many people fearing that she might actually die in the upcoming episodes, with one person writing: "if they kill off robin… there will be a VERY big problem."

Another commented: "If they do that to Robin I will never watch Netflix again."

Other fans are slightly more optimistic, and have pointed to the fact that another character appears to be trying to free Robin from the tentacles, suggesting there may be hope for her yet.

"Looks like she’s alive just stuck to a wall and they cutting her free," one suggested, while another fan wrote: "Can y’all chill Nancy is just freeing her from Vecna’s tentacles."

Viewers of the Netflix show will at this point know that Vecna's tentacles are in no way a 'chill' place to be, but hopefully the more optimistic fans will be right, and Nancy will succeed in cutting her new friend free of Vecna's slimy grasp.

Until the episodes drop on 1 July, we'll just have to cross our fingers...
