Noah Schnapp Confirms Major Stranger Things Character Is Dying

Noah Schnapp Confirms Major Stranger Things Character Is Dying

The Will Byers actor seemingly indicated tragedy could be on the horizon

Stranger Things has sent the internet into meltdown with fan speculation, and now Noah Schnapp has seemingly confirmed the death of a major character.

The 17-year-old actor, who plays Will Byers in the hit series, made the revelation in an interview with Millie Bobby Brown, 18, who plays Eleven.

Bobby Brown said prior to the release of season four on 27 May that she was reluctant to voice her exact hopes for her character.

“I am scared to vocalise anything that I want, because it always turns into ‘Millie Bobby Brown’ demands this storyline,” Brown told The Wrap. “I’m just going to say I trust the Duffer Brothers and their creative process.”

She added: “We’re all afraid of one of us dying.”

It was at this point that Schnapp alluded to the death of one of their characters, saying: “One of us will die. Or more. The cast is so big.”

This was after Brown said she wanted a ‘massacre’ when the large cast was unable to come together for a photograph at the premier.

“The Duffer Brothers are sensitive sallies who don’t want to kill anybody off,” she said.

“We need to have the mindset of Game of Thrones. Kill me off! They tried killing David off and they brought him back!”

The possibility of a major character dying did not go unnoticed on social media.

One TikTok user wrote alongside a crying emoji: "No, no Will please not Will not him [sic]."

A second speculated: "Honestly, will might be killed off just to make everyone feel bad. Because yk... He's been pushed away. But it's probably nance [sic]."

A third theorised: “WHAT IF HE SACRIFICES HIMSELF FOR MIKE.”

A fourth added with a shocked emoji: “One of us WILL die.”

Meanwhile, a fifth user said that in the event of Eleven or Will’s deaths: “I’ll cancel my Netflix subscription.”

Another TikToker took the interview to mean that any character could die.

They wrote: “They meant out of the whole party, not just their characters. It will probably be Max.”

Brown and Schnapp’s words are made all the more poignant by the fourth season, where the pair have separated from the rest of the gang.

While Eleven and Will are in California, Hawkins is once again subject to supernatural activity from a new, terrifying monster: Venca.

The second volume of season four will be available to stream on 1 July.
