If you’d told me a year ago that in October of this year, the movie of the moment which made the most at the US box office last weekend would be a deeply controversial clown film, I’d have said: ‘well, yeah’.
If you’d told me that film wasn’t Joker 2, that’s when my eyebrow would’ve begun raising.
Joker 2 may be flopping at the box office, with the biggest second weekend drop in comic book movie history, but Terrifier 3 is happily moving into the space that Todd Phillip’s DC film has left.
The clown slasher is the talk of the town, with Damien Leone’s film taking the top spot at the US box office this last weekend.

As is often the way with slashers though, there is one particular kill scene that the film’s grossness hinges around.
In the case of Terrifier 3, if you’ve seen it, you’ll know exactly what it is.
While there are perhaps more distressing ones, the kill that has elicited the biggest reactions is ‘the shower scene’.
With spoilers lying ahead, this scene is one that director and creator Leone told LADbible several actors rejected due to how extreme it was.

Spoiler warning for Terrifier 3 underneath the trailer.
Recently, one of the actors who did take up the part, Alexa Blair Robertson, spoke about the shower scene.
It sees her character Mia caught having sex in a communal shower by a chainsaw-wielding Art the Clown.
Carnage ensues, with her and her boyfriend Cole being brutally murdered – and him being split from taint to top with the chainsaw.

“We were both grateful for the opportunity to really get to know each other and build some rapport before embarking on that experience because like I said – nothing can prepare you for that.
“Also, we were both new, and neither of us had ever had a prosthetic supplied, less enough have so many different elements such as water, blood, fake glass, steam.

“So starting the actual filming process itself, we got to – it was actually filmed in a high school locker room, which I think is so funny.
“So I was like ‘oh my gosh these kids probably have no idea what’s going on at their high school this weekend’."
The film required Cole and Mason to both have full body casts made.
She said: "We did a full head cast which was such a unique experience, I’ve never had anything like that done before and we also did a full body cast.

"They did all of the skin matching, the hair matching, it was really so cool to see how they create these special effects that you see in so many incredible films, and there are things you don’t even realise.”
