Inbetweeners fans come together and decide on what's the best ever line from the show

Reddit users have been sharing their favourite lines from The Inbetweeners to crown an all-time winner

Fans of The Inbetweeners have come together on Reddit to remember the shows best lines from the show, proving just how many laughs it's given us over the years.

During its short but sweet three-season run, the show spawned countless iconic moments, which are still widely quoted among fans more than a decade after the Channel 4 series concluded.

To try and find an all-time winner, u/Whosentyounow kicked off a thread on Reddit, asking: “What is your favourite ever line/scene from The Inbetweeners?”

They went on to reveal their own ‘personal favourite’.

Channel 4

Neil: How about this one?

Jay: Championship manager? Completed it.

Neil: But you can’t complete it.

Jay: Err, I know. But I got so good at it they offered me in a role in the England set-up.

Neil: Did they?

Jay: I took Woking from the Conference to the Champions League in 6 seasons, that kind of stuff doesn’t go unnoticed.

One person went for the time when the lads found themselves stuck on a boat while on a field trip to the Dorset coast and reeled in a huge fish:

Jay: I’m not eating that, it’s come out the f**king sea.

Praising their choice, someone else commented: “This one is seriously underrated.”

Another went for a much more obvious – but equally as amusing – moment, writing in the thread: “Simply ‘Bus W**kers’ because I do this when my teenage son is driving me back from the pub. He cringes and is terrified.

“It is how a nicely drunk dad should behave IMO. Revenge for all the times I had to pick him up drunk at parties or stuck with no way home from town.

“I even shout it at the cows.”

Someone else piped up, adding: “Cow w**kers!”

But the winner – as declared by the post’s 1,800 upvotes – was this tender exchange between Simon and Jay:

Simon: No-one brings a bag of s**t to a pub.

Jay: Your dad does.

Simon: Does he?

Jay: Yeah. Your mum.

“Thread over,” one person commented.

Another said: “It's the nonchalance that Jay oozes with this one.”

One fan cheated slightly by putting forward two suggestions – in turn racking up a respectable 1,100 upvotes to secure them a joint runner-up spot:

Tara: Her dad just died last month.

Will: It’s not really relevant is it?

Channel 4

They also shared:

Jay: When I say I’m gonna deliver, I f**king deliver.

Will: Like a postman with Tourette’s.

Someone else agreed that the first was a strong choice, writing: “’It's not really relevant is it?’ is such a classic because he's actually right, but it still feels so wrong and because of that it makes you cringe even harder.”

Another said: “The amount of times I think in an argument ‘not really relevant though is it?’ Is too high.”

Inevitably, there were also a number of honourable mentions for chronically disgruntled teacher Mr Gilbert.

"Most of Mr Gilbert's appearances," one person said, adding examples of: "'Well, you assumed wrong', 'you're a virgin, aren't you McKenzie', the malice when he tells Will to report to the garage... Actually the malice behind most of what he says."
