A lad has filmed his grandmother's reaction to a very awkward sex scene after sitting down to watch American Pie with her.
Listen, American Pie is a classic comedy. It gave us the band camp jokes, it gave us Jennifer Coolidge, it gave us Stifler pranks galore. But it's not what I would call 'family friendly'.
Watch it with your mates or your partner, or even by yourself. No problem there. But if you're going to sit down and watch this film with your gran, you're just asking for an uncomfortable time.
Surprise, surprise, that was exactly the outcome for Kaelin Maddison (@madddy28) when he decided to watch the R-rated comedy with his grandmother.

Filming one of Jim's many cringe-worthy sex scenes, Kaelin then turns the camera to his gran, who's sitting beside him on the sofa.
"Watching American Pie with my grandma and the shagging bit comes on," he captions the video, adding: "Well that was awkward."
Of all the films to sit down and watch with your gran, I don't think I'd be alone in thinking American Pie probably isn't the best choice.
But, in fairness to her, she seems to take the uncomfortable scene in her stride, pulling a very subtle face before taking a casual sip of Coke.

While this gran didn't seem to have too much of a problem with American Pie - or so she let on - Gen Z viewers really aren't into the comedy classic.
If you haven't watched the film recently, I'd recommend another viewing because some of these jokes... haven't aged well.
In late March 2020, Vice set up an experiment and asked Gen-Z teenagers what they really thought of various nostalgic movies.

A group of 16 to 19-year-olds were asked to watch American Pie, as well as classics like Clueless, cheerleading showdown Bring It On, and Dude, Where’s My Car.
The results were pretty wild.
“The only thing the male characters care about is having sex. They’re willing to say and do whatever just to convince the girls to have sex with them," commented one horrified 16-year-old.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old noted that the guys' obsession with getting laid in the film, and feeling almost 'entitled' to sex was 'bordering on incel attitudes.'

One scene which was particularly ‘problematic’ according to a 17-year-old viewer, referring to foreign exchange student Nadia's scene in Jim's room.
“The part where Jim and the other male characters film the foreign exchange student in his room is deeply problematic," the Gen Z viewer commented.
"The film doesn’t even question the morality of doing this, it makes it seem like a joke and that the dudes are all ‘legends’ for getting the plan to work.

"It’s a huge violation of privacy and definitely a sexual offence for Jim to film her, let alone to then share that with his friends."
