A woman found a mysterious note left by her dad beyond the grave, and shared what it said with millions of viewers online.

Processing the loss of a parent is not an easy thing to go through, and nothing might be harder that going through their belongings and clearing them out.

Anything in there could trigger some childhood memories and cause your emotions to come crashing in, causing grief and sadness - it's all part of the process.

But what if you found a weird item while clearing up, that could potentially change your perspective on them as a person?

Well, this girl did exactly that and explained in a TikTok video that she uncovered an 'ominous note' that left her feeling 'nervous'.

Confused and lost on how to feel, content creator Tay chose to film her reaction and post her reaction, which ended up going viral after viewers read what the note said.

She explained in the video: "My father passed away unexpectedly, and as we were cleaning out his house, I found this ominous note shoved in the very back of his dresser."

The American shared that her father was 'simple' and 'straightforward', describing this note as being 'completely out of character' from his usual 'honest' nature.

She then revealed the note to the camera, a folded piece of paper that had the suspicious words 'Do not read unless you want the answer', written on the front.

The native Texan was shaky because she felt 'nervous' as she opened the piece of paper, revealing exactly what 'the answer' was.

Her body language changed, with her arms dropping as soon as she read the inside, flipping the note and revealing that it simply explained how to win 'the peg game', a feature at American restaurant chain Cracker Barrel since the 1960s.

The restaurant has a Southern country theme, with the peg game featuring at dining tables.

To win, you must remove pegs from a triangle-shaped board so that just one remains, something that is meant to be a great test of your IQ.

Tay simply captioned the video: "One last joke on me I guess."

The information on the note had a diagram of the triangular board for the game, with numbers for each peg and a guide on which pegs you should remove, in which order, to win the game.

It wasn't just Tay that was annoyed and slightly disappointed by her dad's antics, as other social media users took to the comments to share what they thought.

One user revealed that the note may not be that disappointing, after all: "I’ve worked at Cracker Barrel for 6 years and couldn’t tell you how to beat the damn game"

Another pointed out: "The dad joke from beyond the grave. What a legend"

A third said: "Lmao the hand drop. I know you were thinking 'REALLY DAD'.'"

Other users praised her dad for revealing the sought-after answer to winning the game, with one even asking to take a screenshot of the answer.

He wasn't lying when he said 'the answer' was in the folded sheet of paper.
