A woman who thought it was a good idea to have an innocent pineapple tattoo was stunned after learning of its secret meaning.

It's totally normal for someone to get tattoo regret a day or two after getting it.

However, to realise weeks later that the drawing on your arm has two separate meanings is quite something.
Avid TikTok user Brittany Lewin, from the US, regularly posts about her daily life on the platform and has over 1.6 million likes.
And a feature in a lot of her videos is the pineapple tattoo on her forearm.
Whilst many viewers are used to seeing it, some have pointed out its other meaning.

For some, a pineapple is not a pineapple.
In a video posted on her channel last year, she explained how horrified she was after finding out that the 'upside down' pineapple, which is what it becomes when she moves her arm, is a secret sex signal.
Brittany made the discovery after her mate told her to Google it.

In a screenshot of a text conversation, her friend says: "It's still going to make me giggle, I only just found out what an upside-down pineapple means."
To which Brittany replied: "Wait what? Googling right now."
She shared the video with the caption: "When you realise you've made a mistake."
The American released that her upside down pineapple is also a signal for swingers.

And it wasn't just her pal who spotted the blunder, some other users did too.
Commenting on the post, one person wrote: "I’ve thought this every video I’ve seen of you. I just thought 'each to their own'."
"I always thought you and your partner were just into some extra fun stuff. I'm sad that you didn't actually know," another chipped in.

But she's not the only one to come to the realisation that the pineapple isn't always what it seems.
TikTok user Linda revealed in 2021 that she and her hubby had bought matching swimming costumes for a trip away, complete with pineapple patterns.
And she explained that they were a bit confused as to why people were being 'a little too nice' during their holiday.
But Linda and her partner weren't the only ones shocked by the revelation - there were plenty of people in the comments who felt the same.
One user asked: "When did the pineapple start meaning this? I only heard of this a few weeks ago and only because I saw it on TT."
Another wrote: "I thought pineapples meant hospitality. I worked 10 years at an assisted living facility and everything was pineapples."
