Thinking of pulling a sickie at work to catch a quick flight? Think again.
The likelihood of running into your boss outside of work is pretty slim, and if you do on the off-chance, it’s usually at somewhere pretty harmless like at the local shops.
But inside of a plane after you've rang in sick? Mortifying.

Luckily, it’s probably not going to happen to you unless you’re like this TikToker who called in ‘sick’ but was actually travelling to Bali, Indonesia.
Grace, aka @grachevaaleidya, is a content creator who freelances at a company in Europe, but splits her time with her home country of Bali.
When she realised she had to return home, instead of telling the company that she had a flight to catch and therefore couldn’t work that day, she instead told them she had an appointment with the doctor because she was sick.

It was only after she'd boarded her flight and opened her messages to see a picture of her manager, who had strategically taken a selfie on the very same plane with herself visible in the background, that she knew she’d f*cked up.
The woman, who has 116,600 followers on her channel, quickly went viral when she posted the blunder to her account, telling the world how she was swiftly caught out my management.
She wrote over the video: “Me taking a sick day from work only to end up on the same plane as my manager.”
In the clip, you can see Grace looking mortified at the camera before it cuts to the message she was sent from her boss.

People rushed to her comments to share how they’d react to a situation like that, and it made for a hilarious read.
One person said: “I’d cry like a baby and give my resignation letter.”
Another wrote about a time they experienced what the boss did: “I remembered once I was getting ready to get on a plane and bumped into my staff. That’s when i figured why he took an extra leave. The flight i took was a weekend & he applied for an extended leave.”
Despite how the video was shot, making viewers believe she only realised she’d been caught red handed when seated on the plane, it was actually beforehand.

Grace later told Newsweek: “Long story short, I was waiting in the line, and then I saw a familiar face coming to me, which called my name.”
She explained how her boss frequently flies to Bali and when he noticed her, he sarcastically asked: “Oh, so this is a hospital?”
Despite being horrified that her plans had been foiled, she told the outlet that the pair were ‘laughing together’.

She said: “We ended up talking all the way to the airplane and while we’re inside, he took that picture and sent it to me.”
And if you’re wondering if she got into trouble, there’s no news on that as she also went on to say in her comments that the pair 'both resigned', but didn’t provide an explanation.
