Some viewers have called out a resurfaced clip from darts gameshow Bullseye that would ‘make Ofcom faint’ if it was aired in 2024.

Sorry to make you feel old but the darts-themed gameshow stopped filming the year I was born.

Bullseye - which aired from 1981 to 1995 on ITV - saw amateur darts players compete for cash and prizes, ranging from caravans to speedboats.
The late Jim Bowen presented the show during its 14-year-run, once describing Bullseye as 'the second-best darts-based game-show on television', even though there was no other darts show on at the time.
The Wirral-born stand-up was prone to the odd joke or two and it was one of the reasons why the show would get between 15 and 20 million viewers on Sunday evenings.
However, in a resurfaced clip, some viewers have questioned if Bowen's sense of humour with this one particular contestant would pass in 2024.

Bowen asks the lady: "Where are you from?"
"Hampton," she replied.
"Hampton. You play in the darts team. What's the name of the team?" the host adds.

"Beveree," the woman responds.
"Beveree? What does that... is that?" he asks, as the lady replied: "Our local football club,"
"Oh, so your local football club, that's fine. Tell us, you went on a sponsored slim, didn't you?" Bowen continued, adding: "How much do you owe?"
Although Bowen seemed to get a laugh out of the audience at the time, he instantly apologised, before making a joke about the other contestant.

"That's very unkind of me, that. I knew they were good sports - has to be, wearing a dress like that," he said while pointing at the other woman in a striped dress.
"Lovely to have you both with us."
As the resurfaced clip appeared on X (Twitter), one person said: "Ofcom would faint."

Another added: "Imagine this happening today. The switchboards would melt."
"I remember this at the time and fell off the settee laughing... wouldn't happen today there would be an uproar," a third penned.
"I'm called an old grump nowadays but to put back that smile & laughter is comedy, nothing malicious just good comedy," a fourth said.
Now, this comes after reports that there could be a reboot of Bullseye in the works.
ITV bosses are allegedly eyeing up presenter Paddy McGuinness, according to one source.
They told The Sun: “ITV is already in discussions to bring back Bullseye after this year’s final drew in the event’s highest viewership in history.
“It’s early days, but ITV think it could be hugely successful.
“There are even plans to bring back the speedboat top prize — even if contestants live in a landlocked place, which often happened during Bullseye’s heyday.
“They think Paddy, with his Lancashire roots like Jim, would be the perfect person to host.”
With Luke Littler turning people into darts fans overnight, it would make sense.
LADbible has contacted ITV for comment.
