A woman who appeared on a Channel 5 series for people with very wealthy parents has opened up about the aftermath of appearing on the show.
The first series of Rich Kids Go Skint aired on Channel 5 back in 2018 and followed young people who lived off their parents' wealth, spending thousands of pounds on expensive cars, apartments, clothes, holidays and beauty products.
The rich kids then go and stay with a family on the breadline in the hopes of showing them how less fortunate people live.

Among those on the show was Jodie Weston, who at the time ran a group of beauty salons set up with family money. In her appearance on the show, she told how she had once spent £15,000 on a holiday to the US.
Now, Jodie has opened up about how her appearance on the show has led to her being the target of a lot of trolling on her social media accounts.
She told the Daily Star: “I still get trolled over it. It is the one thing I can’t really escape. People think I am spoiled even though I’ve proven my talents in other areas."

Since her appearance on the show, Jodie has become an Instagram influencer with 214,000 followers, as well as hosting a weekly DJ set on electronic music station Select FM. She has also DJ'd at several London nightclubs.
However, despite this, she says she still receives shocking abuse from strangers online. One of them was a message saying that she 'deserved' to be sexually assaulted.
She said: “Most of the time it is done via a fake profile and you have no clue who is sending the messages. It is a very one-sided attack which you are powerless to do anything about other than block.

“Some things I still get told five years later are ‘I saw you on Rich Kids and your accent sounds disgusting’, ‘your voice sounds like you’re slow’ and ‘I want to burn my Armani t-shirt because I’ve seen you have the same’."
She added: “I’ve also had ‘I saw you on TV and your makeup looks so s***’ and recently I had ‘I bet you do the purge’.
“Someone also once sent me an email of 50 points as to why they can’t stand me.”
She also has advice for anyone who is thinking of making an appearance on a reality TV show.

Jodie said: “It will follow you throughout life so if you decide to go on a show make sure you are willing to live with that decision forever.”
She added: “I think a lot of them use trolling as an outlet because they are unhappy with their own lives.
“I would tell them if you have nothing nice or constructive to say then don’t say anything at all. Or maybe evaluate how you could make a person feel by your actions."
