With only one episode out so far, Euphoria has already had viewers freaking out with gut-churning and ‘weird as f**k’ scenes.

While Sydney Sweeney’s character Cassie is at the heart of a chunk of the wildness, Zendaya and Chloe Cherry have been making people ‘almost throw up’.

That’s because their characters, Rue and Faye, feature in a purposely ‘disgusting’ scene.

As season three of the hit HBO show has a five-year time jump to follow the characters into adulthood, Rue has become a drug mule.

And in order to smuggle fentanyl into the US from Mexico, she swallows plastic-wrapped balloons of the drugs with Faye.

While viewers are understandably grossed out by the scene, Cherry shared the grim details as her character shoved down the little packs with lube.

The characters’ aim is to swallow the whole bowlful of fentanyl balloons ready to, well, poop out into a colander when they get across the border.

And Euphoria’s creator, Sam Levinson, wanted the scene to be as gross as possible.

“He was like, ‘I really, really, really need to see in the scene that it is absolutely disgusting to swallow these fentanyl balloons. Like, I need it to be just awful. I need people to just see that it is so disgusting and hard and horrible to do this',” Cherry told Decider.

“And I’m hoping that people could see that.”

She added that it was a ‘really fun day to shoot’ despite it being ‘very gross’.

“I guess I just kind of imagined in my mind I was like, ‘What if I was really f**king doing this? Like, what if I was actually doing this and I had to do it? How would I feel about it?’ And I just think I would be disgusted,” the actor said.

Speaking to TV Insider, she said that ‘everyone clapped’ when the scene was done filming, having ‘given it her all’.

While she obviously wasn’t swallowing real bags of fentanyl, Cherry explained: “I was putting real KY Jelly into my mouth.

“It was a condom, or a balloon, or something and then they put something that just looks like a powder… it could have been anything. And then they just tied it up.”

Cherry added that it ‘genuinely was not hard at all’ for her.

“I had a great time because I just love entertaining people, genuinely,” the star said.

The Faye Valentine actor did double-down to Decider: “So yes, it is disgusting to swallow bags, balloons filled with fentanyl, even if the fentanyl is fake because we’re on a set. It is very gross.”

After watching the scene, users on X said it almost made them ‘throw up’ as one described it as: “The most uncomfortable I’ve seen watching this show and that’s saying something.”

Another put: “Watching Euphoria and I genuinely had to skip the entire balloon swallowing/pooping it out scenes cause what the actual fk.”

As a third said: “The show has always been a lot but I never gagged at it but this episode was gross and made me gag multiple times.”
