It's been over five years since Dakota Johnson and Ellen DeGeneres had one of the most awkward interviews of all time.
For nearly two decades, DeGeneres, 66, was one of the biggest talk show hosts in the world, with The Ellen DeGeneres Show racking up 3,339 episodes in 19 seasons.
Before the show ended in 2022, the presenter welcomed the Fifty Shades star, 35, to the chair to ask why she wasn't invited to her 30th birthday.
"How was the party? I wasn't invited," DeGeneres asked, suggesting that her invite got lost in the post.

Hitting back with a fiery response, Johnson said: "Last time I was on the show last year, you gave me a bunch of s**t about not inviting you, but I didn't even know you wanted to be invited...I didn't even know you liked me!"
That's when the legendary meme 'That's not the truth, Ellen' was born.
"Ask everybody," she continued. "Ask Jonathon, your producer. But I did invite you, and you didn't come."
"I was invited? Why didn't I go? Oh yeah, I had that thing! It was probably in Malibu, that's too far for me to go to," DeGeneres awkwardly replied.

"I think I do remember I was invited - thank you!"
Last year, Dakota said people don't understand her sense of humour in interviews, telling L'Officiel: "I think I’m beginning to understand that sarcasm doesn’t translate to journalists these days, or embellishment.
"I just have to be more literal, I guess."

Well, a big Hollywood name who lives for the drama is Drew Barrymore and she was quick to bring it up at the first opportunity she had.
A couple years after the exchange, she had Johnson on her chat show, and the pair were talking about having famous neighbours such as TV star Jimmy Kimmel.
Johnson joked that although she really gets on with the people she lives next to, they 'have a lot of parties and they don't invite her'.

It was a perfect opportunity for the host to ask the actor about her awkward chat with DeGeneres.
She said: "Is this for real? Because, you know, people have gotten in trouble for claiming [to not be] invited to your parties."
The party starter simply responded by saying, 'Oh my gosh', before sharing a funny look with Barrymore.
"That was amazing, by the way," Barrymore added. "Like, amazing."

I think most of us would agree.
