With fans waiting for what feels like forever, the anticipation continues to build for the next instalment of the Wizarding World.
There have been few details of the new Harry Potter series released so far, but it looks like there could be one original star from the film franchise returning for it.
The HBO show is reportedly in the process of casting, with Francesca Gardiner confirmed to be writing it and Mark Mylod directing several episodes.
While Daniel Radcliffe hasn’t totally rejected the idea making an appearance himself, he hasn’t been particularly optimistic about the chances.

Of course, even if he did come back, it wouldn’t be like he’d be playing 11-year-old Harry again.
However, one of his fellow former Hogwarts students seems far more interested in walking the hallowed halls again - although this time, he’s looking to take on a particular position.
Alfred Enoch told ScreenRant he’d ‘love’ to take on the role of a teacher at the school.

The 36-year-old played Dean Thomas in the films, the half-blood wizard who grew up thinking he was Muggle-born.
With Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone being his acting debut, Enoch appeared in the entire franchise and even voiced the characters in several of the video games.
Apparently, he’d quite like a professor role in teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts – that would mean him following in the footsteps of the likes of Alan Rickman and David Thewlis.
The How to Get Away with Murder actor told ScreenRant: “I wish I could say I learned enough to be a mentor to anyone, but I think probably they'd have to find someone else for that... I'd love that. That's good. That's only a one-season job, isn't it?”

He’s not the only original star to have expressed interest either, with Matthew Lewis (who played Neville Longbottom) saying he’d quite like to play Professor Remus Lupin.
Harry Potter HBO series rumoured cast
It’s been doing the rounds that Paapa Essiedu could step into the role of Professor Severus Snape in the upcoming series. While sources confirmed this possibility with Variety, it is said The Lazarus Project actor is yet to formally accept the role.

Another one is Mark Rylance – he’s apparently right at the top of the casting wish list, with sources saying via Variety that he could be Dumbledore.
And we could even be seeing Cillian Murphy in the Wizarding World with Voldemort actor Ralph Fiennes saying he’d be ‘all in favour’ of him playing the villain.
A rep for HBO told Variety: “We appreciate that such a high-profile series will draw a lot of rumour and speculation. As we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details as we finalise deals.”
