As far as jobs go, sitting on the sofa and watching the telly sounds like a pretty sweet gig.
That's what a whole bunch of families across the UK do for the ever-popular Channel 4 show Gogglebox, where we get to watch people watching TV.
With millions tuning into Gogglebox each Friday night, many of the families have become household names, and plenty of viewers would like to be part of the show themselves.

However, before you go writing in to Channel 4 to ask if you can be the next sofa full of Gogglebox stars, you might want to know how much you'll be getting to give up your evenings.
You might think being on the show would be a good time, but think about the number of evenings you'd have to give up to spend watching telly you might not even like.
For your efforts on Gogglebox you could probably expect to be paid about £1,500 a month, which sounds pretty good, though it's not quite enough to make a living on by itself.

However, that's per household, so that amount would be divvied up between all the people sitting on your sofa.
On top of that, you actually wouldn't need to sacrifice that much of your social life either.
You've got to do 12 hours of TV watching a week, which is not nothing, really. They can be broken up into two six hour stints, so your entire week isn't chipped away.
There are also some extra perks to being on Gogglebox besides the fame and (modest) fortune, as you can get a takeaway on Channel 4 during the long sessions of filming.

£1,500 a month for 12 hours of your time a week and free takeaways sounds like a pretty good deal.
It's not enough to give up the day job, with Pete Sandiford of 'Pete and Sophie' - them with the excellent selection of novelty mugs - saying it's 'a bit strange when celebrities know us'.
He said he was 'just a builder from Blackpool', despite his regular appearances on primetime telly, and that he wouldn't quit Gogglebox for another reality show as 'nothing beats sitting on the sofa'.

Not everyone who appears on the show is of the same mind as over the years, many families have announced that they're going to be moving on.
While some of our favourite families have moved on to pastures new, there's always more people ready to let the cameras into their home for £1,500 a month and some takeaways.
