It wouldn't be I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! without some animal related mishaps, but poor Danny Jones ended up getting closer to nature than he'd have liked on his first episode.
Danny entered the jungle yesterday (17 November) by quaffing an odd-looking cocktail packed with lots of disgusting ingredients - hopefully the only one he'll have to drink in this process - before getting into a helicopter.
He then skydived onto a beach and ran into the jungle with Barry McGuigan, where he had to face some peril in the form of a challenge called the 'Mausoleum of Misery'.

Ant and Dec informed the pair that they'd be locked inside and have to share the space with some animal friends, more specifically a total of 15 snakes.
The man from McFly had to endure some serpentine attention of the particularly unpleasant variety as one of the snakes decided to slither into his shorts.
"I've got a snake up my shorts!" he shouted, which drew laughter from Ant and Dec, with the latter joking that the creature was 'what's known here as a trouser snake'. An animal handler then had to intervene to remove the 'trouser snake' from his shorts so he could continue on with the task safely.

By the time the trial was over, Danny had amassed all five stars it was possible for him to win - while Barry hadn't won any - and he'd done it all without uttering those eight words which can bail a celebrity out of a trial at any moment: "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!"
It's actually pretty rare for a celebrity to shout those words as it means they'll miss out on stars which would result in some nice food for the camp at the end of the day.
However, since poor Danny wasn't joking about having a snake in his shorts there was an eight word statement he made which got the crew to step in and help him.

Once he was done with the trial and had won his stars the McFly man shouted: "Can you get it out of my shorts!"
An animal handler who is part of the crew stepped in to remove the serpent from Mr Jones' shorts and safely get it away from one of our nation's beloved musicians.
Those who agree to go on I'm A Celeb must surely know they're signing up to be showered with all sorts of creatures, but it's fair to say that most people would object to a snake deciding it now lives in your shorts.
Danny later said that the Mausoleum of Misery was 'the most vulnerable I've ever felt in my life' and the stress of it even topped playing his first gig with McFly.

The musician is already proving popular with I'm A Celeb viewers, who took to social media to say they were already hoping he'd become 'king of the jungle 2024'.
"Never thought I'd seen Danny Jones pull down his shorts and show his 'trouser snake' to the nation but here we are," as another viewer put it.
