Yep, looks like this new episode could actually be the final ever episode of the beloved sitcom.
Three series of the show aired from 2007 to 2010, which followed the relationship of Gavin and Stacey, played by Mathew Horne and Joanna Page, as they navigated through living between Essex and Wales.
Gavin & Stacey last aired as a one-off Christmas special in 2019, which ended on a major cliffhanger, leaving fans desperate for an answer for five years.

Following the announcement of the 2024 Christmas special, it seems as though the pressure is on to get the episode filmed and edited in time for its release, with Corden admitting he ‘thinks’ it will be ready in time.
In a recent interview with Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2, he said: “We’ll be shooting it [Gavin And Stacey] around September/October time, it’s going to be tight to get it in and delivered.

Corden added that the co-writers didn’t want to give the script to anyone unless they had to.
He explained: “We don’t really want to give it to anyone, unless we feel like it… so we need to make a few trims, and a few little adjustments, but I’m very excited to share it with people.”
It has also been rumoured that the Christmas special won’t be the only festive present fans will receive in December, as it will reportedly be coupled with a documentary looking back on how the show was made.
A source previously told The Sun: “The Beeb view this as a momentous occasion and wanted to give Gavin & Stacey a suitably auspicious send-off.”
