Joe Rogan's new stand-up special on Netflix has been released to blistering responses from viewers - with one fan even claiming he reused a joke from an old routine of Lee Evans'.
The divisive podcaster's show Joe Rogan: Burn the Boats was released on Saturday (3 August) and left viewers divided due to Rogan's repetitive jokes towards the coronavirus pandemic and the trans community.
Rogan will most likely be unbothered by the backlash. After all, his career thrives on sharing polarising opinions and getting in the headlines - as it results in more clicks and therefore more money for him.

However, the 56-year-old is now facing further backlash online, after one viewer made a comparison between a joke of his and a stand-up routine previously told by Evans.
The connection was made after viewers shared a clip from Rogan's show on TikTok, which sees him comparing alien invasions to fishing, saying: "I think the dumbest argument that aren't real [is] people go 'if aliens are real, why don't they just land on the White House lawn' when you go fishing do you check in with the president of the lake?
"No you just trick those dummies with fake food, take pictures of them and then you drop them back in the water."

The routine then sees Rogan declare that fish are dropped back in the lake afterwards thinking 'what the f**k just happened'.
The routine didn't impress viewers, with one person writing: "I listen to joe everyday. I watched this whole special with a complete straight face.
"And the crowd goes mild," a second person added.
However, a third viewer made went beyond calling the routine boring or unfunny, by seemingly accusing Rogan of recycling a previous joke of Evans', stating: "Lee Evans did the that fish bit in the 90s."

The particular routine the commenter is referring to is one of Evans' called 'Gone Fishing', which sees the comedian recount his confusion that fish are able to be repeatedly get caught and then thrown back into the water over and over again.
Watch the clip of Evans' performance below:
Obviously the two routines aren't identical word for word - as Rogan's is making a direct parallel between human experiences and aliens, while Evans' only focuses how fish often caught and thrown back into the water, only to be caught again. However, both the jokes use the idea of the fish being 'abducted by aliens' as the punchline, which is likely the point the original commenter is making.
