If you're in search of a TV show to help with the January blues - this might be it.

Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) and Ciarán Hinds take centre stage as rival gang members in an Irish crime series, co-created by Peter McKenna and Ciaran Donnelly.

The star-studded cast also includes Clare Dunne, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Emmett J. Scanlan (Fool Me Once), and Sam Keeley.

The show follows the fictional Kinsellas crime family in Dublin, Ireland, who are increasingly at odds with a powerful drug cartel.

All hell breaks loose when the hotheaded son of Frank Kinsella (Gillen) gets into a violent confrontation with one of Eamon's (Hinds) men, as the Cunninghams retaliate.

Titled Kin, the series - first broadcast on AMC in 2021 - is now available on BBC iPlayer and Brits are able to put on the full eight episodes of season one, which has a 100 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

Taking to X (Twitter), viewers have been urging others to give it a try.

"If you’ve not watched #Kin on BBC iplayer watch it. It’s brilliant," one person wrote.

"Kin on BBC iPlayer, what a show, unbelievable," added a second.

"Anyone stuck for something to watch, try Kin on BBC iPlayer unreal telly," a third agreed.

"Just binge watched Kin on iPlayer, bloody awesome, the final episode WOW!!!!" someone else said.

"Been absolutely demolishing Kin S2 this week. Brilliant TV show. If you’re not watching it, get watching! S1 on iPlayer, S2 elsewhere," another added.

As mentioned above, season two is currently unavailable to watch on iPlayer as it's only on RTÉ Player in Ireland.

However, following the BBC's acquisition of the show in October last year, there's some hope that season two might hopefully follow suit.

Sue Deeks, head of BBC programme acquisition, said: "Anchored by a tremendous cast, Kin is a powerful and intense story of love, grief, family and crime, and its devastating ramifications."

You can watch season one of Kin on BBC iPlayer.

Jennifer Ebell, executive vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa sales and acquisitions at Fifth Season, added: "Kin aired in Ireland to critical acclaim and has generated record-breaking ratings across both linear and on-demand.

"The series has clocked up more than four million lifetime streams in Ireland, with the second season averaging a 40 percent audience share in its Sunday-night slot, and its finale becoming the most-viewed programme of the year outside of sport.

"We're thrilled that Kin has found its UK home with the BBC."
