While it might feel like there’s countless dating shows to choose from on British telly and streaming sites, an upcoming one might be the wildest yet.
Yeah, sure, Love is Blind: UK has seen some pretty mad moments and Naked Attraction often has some controversy but this is said to be ‘more X-rated’ than that. And Rylan Clark had to follow a strict rule while hosting it.
Really amping up the nude element, Dating Naked sees the daters, you guessed it, totally naked and also shows them having sex.
The star describes this new Paramount Plus show as ‘Love Island without the bikinis and me playing Cupid’. And from the trailers and teasers rolled out of the series so far, it seems he’s the odd one out in that, well, he’s actually wearing clothes.

Yep, the whole point of the show might be that the daters are stripping off their kits, but this doesn’t apply to Clark who told Metro he has to stay clothed.
“I am, sadly. I tried but they won’t let me get it out,” he joked.
“I mean, if we get season two, I’ve offered to host it naked. They’re still saying no.”

Clark admitted he was a little taken aback by the premise himself as he couldn’t quite believe the UK would be showing full on nudity like this.
“[Paramount Plus] told me the idea and I laughed because I was like, 'Well we can’t do that what are you going on about?’” he recalled.
This version of the show is actually a revival of a US show from between 2014 and 2016 but that one did censor the nudity.
And Clark had a watch of the German version of the show in preparation.

“Ten minutes in my eyes were bulging out of my head. I was like ‘What?’. You see everything. There’s no blurring, there’s no strategic camera angles with a plant pot or anything like that,” he explained.
The former X Factor star spent four weeks filming the show in Colombia and it was certainly an eye-opening experience for him.
“I know there’ll be a lot of people out there going, ‘Oh, are you joking? They’re all naked? Like a naked Love Island?’” he said.

“[But] there’s a real great reason and a thread that runs throughout the whole series. Them being naked is 99 percent of the reason [behind] what ends up happening throughout the season.”
Dating Naked features ‘10 singles seeking romance while living au naturel in a tropical setting’. And, of course, because it’s still classic reality TV, there’ll be twists and turns as ‘contestants face challenges as new arrivals join, potentially disrupting existing relationships’.
The first two episodes drop on Paramount Plus on Friday 23 August.
