Catherine O’Hara opens up on Seth Rogen’s on-set behaviour when stoned ‘all day, everyday’

The Home Alone star revealed what it's really like to work with Rogen while he's high

Catherine O'Hara has lifted the lid on what it's really like to work with Seth Rogen on set when he's high.

The veteran actress, 71, is among Hollywood's finest starring in Rogen and Evan Goldberg's upcoming Apple TV+ series, The Studio.

It's something of a love letter to the film world, while also being a comical caricature of the cinematic sphere and all those who occupy it.

Rogen and his childhood best friend Goldberg have rallied a host of A-list stars for his latest project, with icons such as O'Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders being at the helm.

There's plenty of other extraordinary celebrity cameos too in The Studio. It's also shot as a series of long takes - in a similar fashion to Netflix's Adolescence, the filming of which has wowed viewers.

Rogen and O'Hara have now opened up about their working environment on set while speaking to LADbible Group ahead of the series' release.

Take a look at the trailer for The Studio here:

Rogen, 42, wore plenty of hats for The Studio, as he served as a writer, director and executive producer, as well as starring in it.

He portrays the newly appointed head of the embattled Continental Studios, Matt Remick, who steps into the huge shoes of O'Hara's character Patty Leigh after she's abruptly given the boot.

The synopsis for the 10-part show explains: "As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films.

"With their power suits masking their never-ending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe.

"As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it's the job Matt's been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him."

Rogen had a lot of responsibilities to juggle on set, including wrangling a host of A-listers - so it's probably a good job that he stays a 'little stoned all the time', as he told LADbible Group.

The Superbad star is a loud and proud stoner, who previously revealed he's been smoking weed 'all day, every single day' since he was about 20 years old.

Inevitably, there's a few joints passed around in The Studio - but it's the odd spliff here and there, rather than reaching Pineapple Express proportions with cross joints flying about.

Although some people might presume weed smokers are a bit lackadaisical, according to his co-star O'Hara, it has almost the opposite effect on Rogen.

Speaking to LADbible ahead of The Studio's debut on 26 March, the Canadian legend opened up about how the actor keeps up his long-standing weed routine without compromising his work on set.

Home Alone star O'Hara explained: "People ask me, ‘Is he stoned? Is he smoking all day?’ If he is, I would never know it.

"I don’t know if I’ve ever worked with anyone who is more aware of everything going on on the set. [Rogen] is director, producer, star in the scene and you’re so aware, so collaborative and so loose and fun, but on the money.

"It’s crazy. Really, [Rogen] is seriously impressive."

The comedian confessed that he stays 'a little stoned all the time', to which O'Hara responded: "Well, it works! I wish it would work for me."

But like with many things in life, Rogen says it's a case of different strokes for different folks.

"It doesn’t work for most people," he laughed - yes, in the laugh. "I don’t offer it to the other cast members."

Rogen then told LADbible how he managed to multitask on the set of The Studio while also staying high all the time.

He explained that although his multiple roles in the project meant it was a 'busier job', he would 'find ways to accommodate' his love for weed.

"I would never prioritise weed smoking over actually filming the show," Rogen said - before revealing that thankfully, there was plenty of windows of opportunity for him to take advantage of.

"There’s a lot of downtime on sets as well," Rogen added. "I’d say I kept up a pretty good pace."

The Studio will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on 26 March followed by one episode every Wednesday until 21 May.
