Viewers of The Graham Norton Show have spotted something hilarious about Cillian Murphy's reaction to Taylor Swift's new engagement ring.

The pop icon was a guest on the iconic red couch alongside a number of other notable celebrities on Friday night's (3 October) episode.

A mix of names from all over the entertainment industry sat shoulder to shoulder on the show, with the likes of Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lewis Capaldi and Domhnall Gleeson also being interviewed by the Irish host.

But Swift was there to promote her newest album, The Life of a Showgirl, which was officially released on the day the episode aired.

The 34-year-old made headlines for appearing to sing about the size of fiancé Travis Kelce's manhood on 'Wood', while many fans think that she fired some disses at Charli XCX on 'Actually Romantic'.

But in a huge 2025 for the 'Love Story' star, she was beaming while sat on the guest couch, donning the rather large diamond engagement ring for all to see.

Norton pointed out: "There’s a lot to congratulate Taylor Swift about, but the one I feel I ought to congratulate you about is your new bit of finger jewellery."

"The hardware upgrade?" she asked.

To applause in the audience, the American artist started to show the ring off to her fellow guests, with Turner-Smith and Lee leaning in to look at the huge rock, giving her compliments.

Murphy - who spoke about Tommy Shelby's infamous trim on the show - characteristically looked unmoved by the presentation of the ring, though he did smirk when Swift joked that she 'watches the ring like a TV'.

The Peaky Blinders star is known for largely staying out of the limelight and not having any active social media accounts.

While one user pointed out that the guests on the sofa were comparable to 'when you get all your different friend groups together for your birthday party', many shared that they were tickled at Murphy's nonchalant nature in the presence of the most talked about engagements in the entertainment space.

One wrote: "I’m crying… He doesn’t even want to be there. He’s so unintentionally funny," with another calling his reaction 'priceless'.

A third added: "He really is nonchalance final boss. The way he doesn’t have a closer peek when Taylor extends her hand. His body doesn’t even move."

Other users said that he 'tried so hard' to give a reaction, with someone else simply claiming he was 'uninterested' in the ring, as he remained calm while giving her a polite round of applause while sitting next to the star.

Murphy did have a wholesome moment with the artist, sharing that his band in the 90s, The Sons of Mr Green Genes, got offered a five-album deal which they decided to turn down.

"We were kids and we got offered this record deal, I don’t know why I’m telling you this," he said to Swift while laughing.

So it wasn't all bad, then.
