Usually, when we get a TV quiz question right, we feel smart and accomplished.
But on a show like The 1% Club, we expect to be challenged.
In case you're not familiar with the ITV show hosted by Lee Mack, here's a quick rundown.

The show gathers a sample of 1,000 members of the British public and quizzes them on general knowledge.
Questions that a majority of respondents can answer correctly are then put to the show's contestants first.
As the show progresses, the questions get gradually harder, until the final showdown - in which a question only one percent of the public can get correct is asked.
So, with this in mind, you're expecting a real brain twister to come at the finale, right?

Well, the question that was posed on a recent episode has viewers furious, as they claim it was 'far too easy'.
Given that five out of the six finalists got it right, they may be onto something.
So, what was the question?

Here it is - Starting on 25, the middle square, SEEN takes you to square 27. From there, NEW takes you to 20. From there, which square does SWEN take you to?
Alongside the question was a number grid, displaying numbers from 1 to 49.
Maybe I'm a bit thick, but I'm already a little lost trying to figure it out.
Good thing I work with words and not numbers, eh?

Regardless, viewers of the show are brighter than me and were furious at how easy this final question was.
They took to X to sound off about it, with one viewer gushing: "I got the 1% question right!! I think that was one of the easiest 1% question they've had. Sadly I'd gone out earlier, so not in #the1percentclub but still chuffed I got that question right."
Another added: "The Easiest 1% Question Ever! YES I did get it right.... I also went out at 80%. I always find the lower percentage questions easier which is crazy!! #The1percentclub."

"I got the 1%! Thought it was an easy one tonight. Never seen so many people get into the final and win. Well done to you all. Same time next week!" wrote another viewer.
The five viewers who got it right were forced to split the £94,000 prize evenly, leaving them with £18,800 each. Not too shabby, still!i
So, what was the answer to the question?
Twenty, apparently.
How so?
Because SEEN and SEWN aren't random words - they correspond to directions - South, East, North and West.
Do you feel smarter or dumber after reading the answer?
