There is so much entertainment being released that sometimes a series will hit screens and pretty much nobody is talking about it.
That doesn't mean nobody is watching it, of course, as the work from home culture has rather put a dent in the office watercooler chat.
With the sheer volume of shows and movies releasing it can also be blooming difficult to find any common ground with the tastes of your social circle, but from time to time a show is pushed out of the door and just sinks like a stone.

You'd expect that a series based on a Pulitzer prize winning novel and starring the likes of Robert Downey Jr to get a lot more attention, but it's out and so few people have seen it.
This show is The Sympathizer, which stars Hoa Xuande as a North Vietnamese spy who infiltrates the South Vietnamese army and has to flee to the United States at the end of the Vietnam War.
He continues to pass covert information to his masters, but must struggle with his growing sympathies for his new surroundings.

Also in The Sympathizer is Robert Downey Jr (we didn't mention him earlier for nothing) in a multitude of roles, many of which are antagonistic.
That all sounds pretty fascinating, but not a lot of people have actually seen the show, which is on HBO.
The critics seem to like it, with it having a 90 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but perilously few people have shown up to watch it.
This has ticked off some people, who've taken to the internet to try and drum up support for a show they can't believe 'no one is talking about'.

Those who have seen The Sympathizer reckon 'it's really weird how little HBO is doing to promote it' and that 'it is so good'.
Others were excited to see Killing Eve's Sandra Oh in the series, and said her star presence had 'sold' them on giving the show a go.
"This cast is STACKED, the soundtrack is incredible, why is no one watching or talking about it?" lamented another.

Someone else said the book the show was based on 'haunted me for the last several years', and since A24 had a hand in making this show that actually sounds like a good quality for things they'd want to adapt.
Still, sometimes a series will release and sink like a stone because that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
