As season three comes to a close for The Traitors, many will be wondering what the contestants get for appearing on the show.

Whether it be running from task to task or simply putting up with the mental trauma that is trying to figure out what is going on in the show.

Outside whoever will win the close to £100,000 tonight, all the other contestants on the show will be paid completely different amounts.

The specifics were revealed by one of the winners of the first season, Aaron Evans.

Rather than being paid flat appearance fees, all the contestants on The Traitors instead receive a daily allowance.

This accounts for the fact that someone like Yin, who was murdered the first night, probably had to take significantly less time off than the finalists Leanne, Jake, Charlotte, Francesca, and Alexander.

Therefore, they are paid a per-day rate depending on how much they would've earned at work.

Evans said of the pay on the show outside of the winner(s): “They don't technically pay you, they subsidise what you would have got for work with the show, it's roughly like £100 a day.

“It's not that much... but it's definitely worth it.”

That is not to say however that those who are on the show only make a few hundred quid and that’s them.

Though many return to work, some members of the previous seasons of the show have managed to make careers off the back of the fame they earned in the castle.

Mollie Pearce from season two was devastated when it was revealed her best friend on the show Harry Clarke was a traitor and had been fooling her the entire time.

Despite this though, she has managed to successfully leverage her fame on the show into an appearance of this year’s Dancing On Ice, where she is the bookies favourite to win the series.

Add to this an ongoing podcast and regular media appearances for Harry Clarke and fellow season two traitor Paul Gorton, and if studios aren’t lining up a multi-season podcast for Minah and Linda from this year and they’re burning money.

The show’s final episode was a dramatic end to the series, with the fall out of Charlotte being revealed to be a traitor at the last hurdle driving the episode.

The reveal of Charlotte as the Traitor set Twitter ablaze with her slightly unhinged reaction to Francesca finding out she was a Traitor.

The winner of the show is guaranteed to earn more than £70,000, and may receive even more by the end of tonight's finale.
