Viewers of the new BBC drama Sherwood have been left cringing after an awkward scene where a character watches porn.
The series is garnering rave reviews and pulling in audiences, but one scene in particular has made people uncomfortable.

While most of the show is focused on crime-drama based on the real-life murders carried out in 2004 near Nottingham, some viewers are wishing the show would just stick to that plot.
Many took to social media to voice their disgust, cringe and criticism over a scene they thought didn't need to be in the show.
The scene in question involves Andy Fisher (Adeel Akhtar) accidentally blasting porn through a Bluetooth speaker late at night after his son Neel (Bally Gill) hooked the devices up.
The blunder wakes up daughter-in-law Sarah Vincent (Joanne Froggatt) as it blared through the speaker in an excruciatingly embarrassing moment for the character

It wasn't just Andy who was cringing, as plenty of viewers voiced their displeasure on social media.
Several viewers questioned 'what was the point' of the scene, which didn't seem to have much to do with the overall plot of the series.
Another user asked 'was that really necessary' to include the scene.
Others, however, saw the funny side, with one person joking about Andy not having to worry about playing porn through the speaker in reference to something that happens later on in the episode.
Of course, subsequent events in the episode made the porn scene even more out of place as the crime drama took a far more serious turn.

What Andy will do next is anyone's guess but viewers are in suspense over the next moves the show will make, just as long as there's no more scenes of Andy accidentally playing porn through a speaker.
Meanwhile, another group of Sherwood viewers are getting angry for another reason, namely that football club Nottingham Forest was referred to as 'Notts Forest' in the show.
For those unfamiliar with football teams in Nottingham, there's Nottingham Forest which are referred to as 'Forest' and rivals Notts County.
The real story behind Sherwood is a pair of murders that shocked Nottingham in 2004.

The first victim was Keith Frogson, a former miner who was brutally murdered by a crossbow and samurai sword, with the killer then fleeing into Sherwood forest.
Chanel Taylor was the second victim, having been shot multiple times by her own father just weeks after he'd walked her down the aisle to be married. He also hid in Sherwood forest.
New episodes of Sherwood are on at 9:00pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on BBC One.
