After just a few days of deliberation, one of the highest-profile court cases of the 21st century came to a close yesterday after the jury announced the verdict of the libel trial involving Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard.
It seems that Miss Heard already has plans to appeal the verdict after the jury were unanimously in favour of Johnny Depp’s case, and awarded him $15 million in damages after they agreed he was indeed defamed by Heard in 2018.
With her whole career in the public eye, many people are wondering…what will be Amber Heard's next move?

Aside from the infamous libel trial, Heard lives quite a low-profile life out in the desert in Yucca Valley, California, with her one-year-old daughter Oonagh Paige.
Until the sequel of the hit movie Aquaman hits theatres early next year, it doesn’t appear that she has any other work lined up, and with the massive damages to her ex-husband to pay, it seems like this could be quite problematic.
Heard’s acting career was undoubtedly boosted by her connection to the legendary character of Captain Jack Sparrow, played by her ex-husband, and consequently since that connection has been severed, similar to Mr Depp’s finger throughout their relationship, some may argue her acting career has diminished.
Despite the jury being in favour of Mr Depp in the outcome of this trial, and the public perception of Miss Heard appearing largely negative, it is a well known fact that Hollywood is a fickle business, and one that is known to be largely forgiving.

However, it is doubtful that this verdict will dramatically improve either of the two individual’s careers for a long time, and it is certainly probable in the case of Miss Heard, that Hollywood would be wary of hiring an actress with so many damaging abuse accusations attached to their name.
