Fans have been left in disbelief after YouTuber Nikocado Avocado revealed the result of a weight loss journey that has seen him lose an impressive 17 stone in two years.

Nikocado Avocado - whose real name is Nicholas Perry - rose to internet fame after sharing extreme eating videos on YouTube.

As his following grew to a whopping 3.39 million subscribers on the platform, Perry started engaging in shocking and self-destructive behaviour online, becoming quite the controversial figure in the process.

But, while the last video posted to his channel was just three months ago, the content creator recently revealed that he hadn't filmed an eating video in two years, instead using old content to trick the internet.

In a YouTube video posted earlier today (7 September), Perry explained that the whole thing had been a ruse.

The 32-year-old, who was noticeably a lot slimmer, said: "I am always two steps ahead. This has been the greatest social experiment of my entire life.

"It's worrying, it's compelling, it's gripping to observe all these unwell, disorientated beings roam the internet in search of stories, ideas, rivalries where they feel encouraged, engaged.

"So I am the villain because I've made myself one and you will continue to consume these stories about me - year after year after year.

"Yesterday people were calling me fat and sick and boring and irrelevant.

"People are the most messed up creatures on the entire planet and yet I've still managed to stay two steps ahead of everyone. The joke's on you.

"I haven't made a video for two years."

The ruse, plus Perry's incredible weight loss, left viewers in shock with more than 80,000 taking to the comments.

One person wrote: "Wtf is happening?"

Another joked: "Feels like a serial killer documentary."

And a third commented: "Bro really said 'checkmate.'"

Meanwhile, others applauded the content creator for his dedication to getting healthy despite much of his fame coming from overeating.

"The way Nikocado went from 'just water weight' to 250 pounds lighter is the biggest internet redemption arc ever!" one person said.

Another commented: "Let's be real. This is what we hoped for rather than facing his passing due to complications caused by his heavy weight."

A third wrote: "Honestly man, I don't like you as a content creator, but I do respect you for looking after your health, congrats man, genuinely proud of you." Meanwhile, a fourth said: "This guy is living proof that nothing is impossible... That is inspiring."

Perry is yet to reveal how he lost the weight.
