One of the most accomplished female adult film stars has opened up about the realities of dating while creating x-rated content.
As a member of the AVN, XRCO, NightMoves, and Brazzers Halls of Fame, Julia Ann has enjoyed a hugely successful career as a pornographic actress. After forming stripping duo, 'Blondage,' with Janine Lindemulder, the 55-year-old has enjoyed over three decades in the adult industry.
Which means that Julia is no stranger to what is likely one of the most awkward parts of being an adult performer, explaining what your job is to potential love interests.

Julia opened up on the subject during an interview on the Holly Randall Unfiltered podcast, revealing she'd been married twice, both to people inside and out of the pornographic world.

Reflecting on what it's like being married to her current partner, who doesn't work in the industry, Julia revealed that she's lucky to be with a partner who 'just doesn't care' about the bulk of her work.
"It just doesn't get to him," she explained. "It's not that he's sad and puts up with it, he just doesn't care."
However she did reveal that there had been a couple of times were her explicit work had led to some issues. "There was a couple of times that it got under his craw [skin]," Julia admitted, with performance in a group sex scene causing friction in the relationship.

"But other than that he'll say flat out for whatever reason he is not a jealous person. He's just not built that way."
Julia - who recently opened up about the reason she no longer films scenes with men - and host Holly Randall then went on to agree that, in their experience, most of the preconceptions about dating someone in the adult industry comes from outsiders.
"They like to cut people like that, so instead of being like 'the guy literally doesn't care', they're like, 'oh that guys some sort of sad cuck'," Julia said.

"And I'm like if that's what it takes for you to feel better about the fact that you couldn't handle that, then OK, call that person names but it could also be the fact that that person doesn't care."

Julia isn't the only adult performer whose opened up on what it's like to date while working in the industry, with Riley Reid revealing her choice in career didn't make things easy when it came to finding love.
"People have this persona of you, and so it's hard to meet someone who didn't know who I was," she explained during an episode of What They Don't Tell You With Jordyn Jones in 2021.
"It just sucks that I kind of came with this blanket on top of me that had a definition of who I was - which is not real."
