World's biggest adult star Angela White explains how parents reacted to her getting into industry

One of the biggest names in the adult film industry, porn star Angela White, has revealed how her parents reacted to her X-rated choice in career.

Originally joining the adult film industry at the age of 18, the 39-year-old Australian content creator has enjoyed a hugely successful career.

In the past two decades she has won three AVN Female Performer of the Year awards and earning the moniker 'the Meryl Streep of porn' thanks to her longevity in an industry obsessed with looks and youth.

However, there are some drawbacks to being 'Australia's most well-known adult performer' - with Angela having to inform family members about her choice in career due to being such a high-profile presence in the industry.

Sharing their reaction in an interview with 7News, the adult actress said that while she was 'never rejected' by her family her mum certainly had concerns about her choice in career at the start.

"I was never shunned by my family, I was never rejected by my family, but my mum particularly was worried when I told her," she said, adding that she was particularly concerned about the 'stereotypes' attached to the industry.

"[It was] tough for them at the start," she added.

Surprisingly, Angela's father had a much calmer response to her job. "When I told him he didn't really have much of a reaction," she recalled.

"Maybe he had an inkling that it was what I was gonna do, or maybe knew he wouldn’t be able to stop me anyway if he had reacted negatively."

Angela's decision to bare all in the adult film industry has certainly been a lucrative one - seeing her work as both an actress and director for X-rated films across the years.

The actress has also made the decision to begin working on streaming platform Only Fans in the past couple of years - going on to become one of the top 0.01 percent of creators on the site.

Sharing her thoughts on the streaming platform, Angela revealed she believes it has changed the industry for the better as performers are now 'their own boss'.

"And it's definitely changed the entire porn industry because it's empowered performers to be their own boss," she told Life Uncut Podcast.

"Every performer is now a content creator, so they're owning their own content which they can use later on down the track for passive income."
