It's one of the things you'll consider when booking your holiday - but one expat has sent out a warning to those looking to make their way to Benidorm for cheap booze.
The Spanish city is one of the travel hotspots for Brits, mostly for the cheap food and drink on offer, but also because it feels like it's a home away from home - with more sunshine.
Flying over to Alicante and making your way to the coastal city of Benidorm might be one of the cheapest trips on offer, but one Brit who lives on those shores has urged us to avoid one thing.

Benidorm is known for selling pints that cost just one Euro each at some bars, though this may not be such good news now, following the new laws imposed by the Spanish government on tourists, aiming to crackdown on heavy drinking.
In Majorca, fines up to £1,300 are possible for offenders if they are caught publicly drinking, as they aim to crack down on anti-social behaviour from
visitors. Other areas that have been affected are Playa de Palma and Magaluf in Majorca, as well as Sant Antoni in Ibiza.

As of May this year, the number of sanctions against tourists will be kept count of and reported to embassies - they're taking it seriously this time.
So, knowing this, then the news may not be as hard to hear, as several British holidaymakers looking for the cheap-as-chips pints have been sent a message by social media user @frankthestagman, who lives in Benidorm and helps to organise parties for tourists.
He explained: “Let me tell you something about drinks that you get for one Euro. They are absolute rubbish.
“Do not waste your time going to places that advertise €1 a pint because you’re getting the absolute… you’re getting the bottom of the barrel, do you know what I mean?”

Explaining that you 'get what you pay for', he highlighted that places that sell the unbelievably priced pints do it 'for a reason', and that you'll be better off without it.
In fact, he described the booze as 'chemical horrible rubbish', saying that all you'll end up with with is tummy problems. Doesn't sound appealing.
Don't let it stop your trip to Benidorm though, as they do still sell cheaper pints than a lot of places across the UK, and you can drink it in view of the Mediterranean.

The destination doesn't yet fall into the same category as Ibiza and Majorca though, as laws have been re-enforced on the islands surrounding the sale of alcohol, which has been forbidden from 9:30pm to 8am the next morning, in some places.
