The famous golden arches caused waves in the food world with news about some menu changes earlier this week.

In just a few days, the shake-up will take place as the fast food chain continues to keep its selection of items fresh, especially with summer and the European Football Championships coming up.

McDonald's haven't shied away from changes, making a huge change to Happy Meal boxes, adding a brand new £3 meal deal option and of course, the new menu items.

Among the eight in total, there is one big, new addition, with the famous chain introducing a brand new burger to its customers.

It's called the Hat Trick, football-themed with the upcoming Euros in Germany and like a hat-trick, it includes three - not goals - but patties between its glazed sesame buns.

It also includes two slices of cheese, grilled onions, mustard and ketchup, being available for a limited time.

For just £7.69 for a medium meal and £5.89 as a single item, it's definitely worth a try if you're a Maccies fan, though another notable addition to the menu is the return of fan-favourite mozzarella bites in time for the summer heat.

This will cost £2.39, while Chicken Selects are back too for £8.49, and the Chicken Sharebox has made its return to the menu, including six chicken selects, six chicken nuggets and four dips for £10.59.

Unfortunately, it does mean that 12 items are being taken off the menu in time for the new menu's launch date.

Some of the items being axed are; the Chicken Big Mac, the Quarter Pounder, the Cheese & Herb Melts, the Galaxy Chocolate Mini McFlurry and more.

You will have until Wednesday 29 May to enjoy these food items, though this date also marks the introduction of McDonald's eight new items to the menu.

Caramel McFlurrys will make their return to the menu at £2.19, with fans of warmer deserts being treated to the Galaxy Chocolate and Raspberry Pie for just £1.99 as Brits will be spoilt for choice when looking for a sweet treat this summer.

Here are all of the new items coming to McDonald's menus on 29 May:

  • The Hat Trick £5.89, Medium Meal - £7.69
  • McDonald’s Chicken Sharebox - £10.59
  • 9 Chicken Select Sharebox - £8.49
  • Mozzarella Bites with a Rich Tomato Dip - £2.39
  • Skittles McFlurry - £2.19
  • Iced Latte - £2.49
  • Galaxy Caramel McFlurry - £2.19
  • Galaxy Chocolate and Raspberry Pie - £1.99
