McDonald’s fanatics rejoice, the chain is finally giving us some exciting items from across the globe.
Never-seen-before on the UK menu, there’s brand new flavours and tastes coming as Maccies undergoes a limited-time global takeover.
I’m talking new burgers, special fries, exciting desserts and even a unique drink.
Billed as its ‘boldest, most international menu yet’, us Brits are going to be able to try fan-favourite food and drink selections from the likes of Australia, Canada, Japan and Malaysia. Yep, no longer will you have to drool over TikToks of travel influencers showing you the McDonald’s menu of a country you’ve not been to.
Landing here for a limited time, eight legendary items from four different continents will be served up in UK and Ireland restaurants from 22 October.
Yep, pineapple on a chicken burger... (McDonald's) Brand New Burgers
Coming from Canada, Brits will be able to get a taste of their twist on a classic – the Maple BBQ & Bacon Double Quarter Pounder.
Along with the popular Quarter Pounder beef patties is a creamy Maple BBQ sauce with bacon, cheese, crispy onions and pickles in a toasted sesame seed bun.
And then offering up quite a unique combo here for the first time, McDonalds is bringing over Australia’s Pineapple McSpicy.
Yes, pineapple. This burger consists of a ‘fiery’ 100 percent chicken breast in a crispy coating with the beloved sandwich sauce, bacon, cheese, lettuce and then a juicy slice of pineapple. Well, guess you’ve got to taste it before you judge it…
Mac and Cheese Triangles are coming. (McDonald's) Global Sides
LADs, they’ve given McNuggets an absolute upgrade with thanks to Japan.
The usual nuggets of 100 percent chicken breast are given a flavouring kick of garlic and black pepper and served up with a Garlic & Soy Mayo dip.
Then, from McDonald’s Poland, there’s the legendary McShaker Fries. For this menu, the shaker bag comes with a sachet of sour cream and black pepper seasoning.
And now, maybe this the most exciting one, we’re getting the Mac & Cheese Triangles from the United Arab Emirates.
Little triangles of macaroni pasta in a cheddar cheese sauce come in a crispy breadcrumb coating with a ketchup dip. I mean, they sound like a dream to be honest.
McFlurry with thanks to Malaysia. (McDonald's) Different Desserts
From Indonesia, there’s going to be the Choco Caramel Pie, filled with molten caramel and chocolate ganache.
And obviously, there’s no new McDonald’s without a new McFlurry and for this global menu, it’s coming from Malaysia.
Offered in both chocolate or caramel the creamy soft serve is swirled with crunchy pretzel pieces along with the sauce for a sweet-and-salty chill.
Special Sip
Rounding off the menu of worldly imports, it’s Sakura x Sprite from Japan. The usual Sprite Zero gets a hit of sugar-free Sakura syrup to bring some delicate and sweet floral flavour.
