In case you haven’t noticed, live music in Australia is in a critical condition right now. After years of concerts being prohibited due to the COVID–19 pandemic, we’re seeing live music venues and festivals alike come to an end.

In fact, since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,300 live music venues have shut their doors around the country. On top of that, our once-thriving music festival scene has been decimated, with only a few still left standing. It’s rough for music fans, but it’s unimaginably tough for musicians who struggle to make a living in these conditions.

Well, in an effort to give these artists a helping hand, Nando’s has announced a brand new event — the Chicken Shop Sessions.

The event is giving fans a chance to see musicians put on an intimate performance, while in turn allowing those artists to build their platform with an event like no other. Taking place on the same weekend as Australia’s biggest music festival was supposed to (before it was cancelled), this is not only a celebration of live music, but a reminder of how special it is.

But what acts are taking place? Headlining this special event is none other than complete multi-hyphenate and beloved DJ Nina Las Vegas. She’ll be joined by the likes of rising singer-songwriter Ishan, powerhouse rapper and producer CHAII and Perth-born indie rockers Coterie. Just like Australia’s music scene as a whole, the Chicken Shop Sessions truly has something for everyone.
