A reheated takeaway just don't bang the same as the fresh original you enjoyed the day before.
We've all been in the situation where we've over ordered at a takeaway with the justification of 'I can have it for my lunch the next day' - only to realise it that your re-warmed leftovers just aren't as good as the night before.
So what is the best way to enjoy your leftover takeaway? Some may argue it's better to eat items such as pizza cold rather than chance drying it out completely in the oven - but now with this new hack you don't have to.

All you need is a microwave and some tap water.
According to one restaurant Plaza Pizza (via The Mirror), the best way to breathe new life into your leftover slices is to put them in the microwave alongside a mug of water.
Once the pizza begins warming, the water in the mug will apparently 'absorb some of the energy and redistribute the microwaves more evenly', which allows for the cheese to melt before your crust goes dry.

This hack can also be applied to various other takeaway items, such as naan breads, rice or noodles.
The method is also endorsed by Dominos, who have a whole section on their website dedicated to the best reheating methods.
While the pizza giant recommends that it is preferable to reheat your leftover slices in an oven or frying pan, the microwave method is simple and straightforward.

The takeaway chain agrees that customers should use the water hack when reheating via the microwave as it should supposedly prevent 'the miserable soggy slice that is so common with microwaved reheating'.
The hack has also been endorsed by Redditors, with one person writing that reheating pizza this way prevents 'the crust from getting all tough and chewy'.
However if you're willing to spend a little more time on refreshing your food, reheating in the frying pan appears to be the way to go - with a chef sharing the divisive idea in a viral post.
Sharing the idea in a video on TikTok, content creator Dom Melier explained that you should heat up a frying pan and then add in a slice of pizza.

Once you've left the slice for around 30 seconds, he advises to add a small amount of water to the pan (but making sure it doesn't touch the pizza) before covering with a large lid.
After a few minutes the pizza should have a 'gooey top but a nice and crisp bottom' - which Melier says is the ideal.
"Just like it came out of the pizza oven," he adds.
