Tesco has launched a new sandwich based on an 'old classic' and shoppers are 'on a mission' to give it a try for themselves.
Usually, when it comes to sandwiches, the classics are pretty hard to beat; ham, ham and cheese, BLT, tuna and sweetcorn, egg mayonnaise etc.
Paired with some McCoy's crisps and a Coke, you can't really go wrong.

However, it seems that the UK supermarket chain has gone one step further and recreated one of the most famous British dishes and converted it into a sandwich.
No, we're not talking about fish and chips here.
Tesco has launched a new sandwich based on ham, egg and chips, which I haven't had in years.

Right, so the sandwich itself is made up of white bread filled with beechwood-smoked ham, egg mayo, salt and vinegar fries and ketchup.
Some UK shoppers are going crazy for the classic flavour combo, with one person commenting: "I'm no fan of supermarket sandwiches, but I'm on a mission to get one of these now."
Another said: "It's the next best thing to being down the caff. It tasted great! Have it with builder's tea! "
"I've had it, it was nice. Chips were not soggy," a third wrote.

"I've had this and it's like having crisps in your sandwich, surprisingly tasty," another penned.
Meanwhile, others can't seem to get on board with the 'chips' element of the sandwich.
"Who thought this would be a good combo?" one person questioned, while a second added: "Cold soggy chips?"

"Just because you can doesn't mean you should," a third also penned.
"Limited edition cuz no sane person will want to buy cold chips in a sandwich," a fourth wrote.
"Had one yesterday... weird!!! And not in a good way," someone else said.
Tesco sandwich creator Sarah Bryer said: "We know how well loved the chip butty is with the nation, plus we have seen a massive surge of people admitting their guilty pleasure of a crisp sandwich on social media, combined with British pub favourite ham, egg and chips.

"The mini salt and vinegar fries give a crunch to the Beechwood smoked ham and chunky, rich, egg mayonnaise."
Priced at just £3 it's probably worth a try if you like your ham and chips.
Tesco Clubcard holders can also have the sandwich as part of a £3.40 meal deal.
And it's only 421 calories, with just a fifth of your recommended fat intake (13.1g).
