People stunned at cost of a coke after seeing Ushuaia Ibiza price list

People stunned at cost of a coke after seeing Ushuaia Ibiza price list

Tourists are expected to drop a fair bit on the party island

If they weren’t all at Glastonbury the other week, it feels like everyone on social media is going to Ibiza at the moment.

Or both, lucky b***ards. I mean, good for them.

As Brits travel over to the Spanish island for pool parties, DJ sets and days in the sun, it’s fair to say they’ll be expecting to splash out a decent bit of cash while they’re out there.

But perhaps, even more than they think.

While Ibiza is one of the spots with a booze ban and plenty of people tend to opt for something non-alcoholic, it seems even a simple soft drink can come at quite the cost.

People have been left stunned at the cost of a Coke after seeing the price list for the famed beach hotel and outdoor venue, Ushuaïa.

For anyone who isn’t aware, it’s essentially that big outdoor night club with the glowing red lights that seems to pop up on our Instagrams every weekend when Calvin Harris headlines.

But when partygoers aren’t lapping up the good vibes and whatever else that’s on offer on the dance floor, they might be queuing up at the bar to get the next round in.

And an Aussie bloke took to Facebook to explain how his mate had gone out to Ibiza to celebrate their birthday.

“Drink prices are INSANE, kinda kills the vibe,” he wrote. “This is from Ushuaïa club. Almost $30 for a coke! Prices are in Euro.”

€14 for a Coke would cost about $22.50 in Aussie dollars, so he's not far off when he says it's nearly $30.

Yep, according to the photo, all soft drinks on the bar menu are priced at €14 (£11.83) – except for a red bull coming in at €16 (£13.51). That’s only a little bit less than a Heineken at €17 (£14.36).

Spirits like Vodka are priced at €23 (£19.43), going up to €24 or €25 (£20.27/£21.12) to have it mixed with a soft drink or Red Bull.

The most expensive thing on the photo seems to be all of the vodka and most of the tequilas served mixed with Red Bull – you know, if that’s your vibe.

People commented to say it’s ‘just wrong’ and said it’s ‘silly’.

Although one wrote: “Been to Ibiza twice, Ush and Hi the most expensive drinks I’ve ever purchased. But the WORLDS best sound system makes up for it, you can literally feel it in your soul.”

Others said you just have to tap your card ‘and look away’ as many agreed: “Don’t condone it but nothing new.”

LADbible has contacted Ushuaïa for comment.
