In at number 12 is the UK with a whopping 40.09 percent of blokes struggling with male pattern baldness.

More common in men, premature balding can happen for a large number of reasons.

According to the NHS, causes range from hormonal changes and weight loss to stress or medical conditions.

What is the cause of excessive hair loss in men?

According to recent stats, hair loss affects around 6.5 million men in the UK, and it can be caused by a huge number of factors.

For some men, it's simply hereditary and can start in your early twenties or thirties.

Hair loss can also be caused by lifestyle changes such as stress, illness or weight loss.

It's recommended that you speak to a medical professional to understand the cause of your hair loss before seeking treatment.

"Hims is the best thing that could have ever happened to me, I went from almost losing my hair on the crown and centre area of my head to now having to cut my hair weekly," one customer shared. "My barber was convinced I had done some kind of hair implant, after several cuts he realised it was my natural hair - this product has brought me confidence and happiness."

Another review reads, "I started Hims for hair growth four months ago and it's amazing! No more bald spot on my crown and my hair is very thick like it was in my mid twenties. I now need a haircut every two weeks and the woman who cuts my hair can't believe it."

"My hairline has returned, and I am loving it," a third raved.
