A man in his forties from Japan has shown off some incredible results after copying the exercise routine of manga hero 'One Punch Man'.

The comic book superhero, real name Saitama, famously follows a ridiculous routine which sees him complete 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups and 100 squats in a day, with a 10km run also squeezed in for cardio purposes.

Japanese YouTuber Tasuke thought this sounded like a great idea, and has been doing it every day for the past three years, as he overcame challenges such as catching coronavirus and at one point being hit by a car to grind out the regime every single day.

He says in a YouTube video: “At first, my whole body became sore, but I kept going anyway.

“My knees hurt and even walking was tough, but I kept going anyway.”

Three gruelling years of working out

After initially going viral for showing off his progress after one year, Tasuke has now revealed his ripped body from three years of incredibly hard work that left his muscles screaming in pain.

The 41-year-old started off with what most would describe as an average physique for a man of that age but he set himself some huge goals, and delivered on every single one.

It wasn't just following Saitama's routine that Tasuke challenged himself to do however, as he also wanted to complete a marathon under four hours, which soon progressed to conquering 100km and 200km ultramarathons, which he also knocked out of the park.

The results of his fitness challenge

He also achieved his aim of dropping his body weight from 74.7kg to 62kg while maintaining his muscle mass, which is perhaps an extreme method of losing weight in an age where many just turn to controversial injections as a quick and easy method of doing the same.

But instead of dealing with some horrific side effects, Tasuke is no doubt feeling better than ever as he showed off his new powerful physique, even if the process itself was a very difficult and often painful one.

During his three-year mission, Tasuke had to complete 10km of steps inside his own home after contracting Covid, while he also collided with two bicycles and lost eight toenails.

However, some fans suggest that the challenge clearly wasn't stressful enough for the YouTuber as unlike One Punch Man, his hair didn't fall out from the stress of the workouts.

So, if you want to get ripped without paying for a gym membership, maybe you just need to put aside the time to run 10,000 miles (get a load of that The Proclaimers), and complete hundreds of thousands of sit-ups, push-ups and squats.
