Married woman meeting another man for affair on ‘Cheatmas’ explains how she gets away with it

That's not very Christmassy

Christmas may be around the corner but the time for family festivities has to wait for some folks in search of romance away from their current relationship.

Although cheating might be the norm in a growing amount of partnerships, you'd think that most people might take a break from their lovers when they're busy wrapping other things up.

But today (Friday 5 December) marks one of the busiest days of the years for unfaithful partners, as they look to squeeze in one last meet-up in what people are starting to call 'Cheatmas'.

New data from IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s biggest extramarital dating site, reveals that searches have spiked by 31 per cent ahead of 'Unfaithful Friday', with thousands of Brits looking to take advantage of the Christmas chaos to sneak away for a few hours, or minutes, depending on how proficient you or your lover is in bed.

Sex and relationships expert Jessica Leoni, of IllicitEncounters.com, said: “People are grabbing one last dose of excitement before entering what for many is a marathon of familial performance art.

"The excuses are almost foolproof at this time of year – no one questions a late-night work drink in December or an afternoon lost in the shops. It’s the perfect alibi for a day that has become the annual peak of secret intimacy in Britain.”

While we've seen recently just how many rules you'll need to follow if you simply can't 'Stay Another Day' with your partner, with a solo visit to the 'marriage destroyer' hotspot of Europe unsurprisingly not one of them, another woman has now revealed how she plans to get away with it this festive period - which you'd hope will be their 'Last Christmas' together.

Lisa, who has changed her name, revealed how she plans on taking advantage of Unfaithful Friday: “From next week, my diary is insane – I’ll be going to my husband’s work do, there’s the kids’ nativity, and we’ll also be hosting his family on Boxing Day. Today is my one window.

“I’ve told him I’m doing a big Christmas shop with a girlfriend. In reality, I’ll be having a long lunch and a few hours of proper conversation with someone who actually listens to me. It’s about feeling like myself again before I have to be ‘mum’, ‘host’ and ‘wife’ for the next three weeks straight.”

So, it's probably worth keeping a close eye on what your other half gets up to for the rest of today, as the last thing you want is to be 'Driving Home For Christmas' just to find your husband 'Underneath The Tree' with another woman.

Leoni added: “If your other half is suddenly ‘unavailable’ today, unusually keen on a solo shopping trip, or has a strangely detailed story about helping a friend, your intuition might be ringing for a reason. ‘Cheatmas’ is the day when the secret world and the real world collide under the cover of tinsel and goodwill.”

Merry Cheatmas, everyone.
