Cabin crew use secret code word to signal that you're attractive

Airline staff have a covert language which allows them to communicate with one another right in front of passengers

Although they are extremely busy catering to the every need of each passenger, cabin crew still have a bit of time to check out if there are any hotties hidden among the rows of holidaymakers.

They might be on the clock, but they are still human - and let's face it, at least it means there is a chance of someone admiring the airport outfit we stewed over for longer than we'd care to admit.

However, even if a steward or stewardess has got the hots for you, they obviously have to keep their conduct professional while they are working and they can't just start doling their digits out on the plane.

Instead, they have to resort to code words which allow them to covertly communicate with their colleagues about important topics - such as flagging any fitties on the flight.

And thankfully, you will no longer have to wonder whether the attraction is just one-sided or mutual, as an airline employee revealed the secret lingo which cabin crew use to signal that they think someone is attractive.

A few years back, an anonymous cabin crew member revealed what codes they often use on the staff forum, cabincrew.com, as well as how they abide by plane etiquette even when they fancy someone.

They mentioned that they had started using one certain word to subtly tell others they think someone is good-looking during their shifts, which wouldn't attract the attention of the general public.

And to make it even better, they turned it into a bit of a game - so it's team building while scouting out the talent.

The rules are simple; every time a cabin crew member sees a passenger they think is attractive, they say 'Cheerio' while keeping a painfully straight face.

The game only works, of course, when the passengers are disembarking the plane after it has landed, and the staff congregate at the door to say goodbye.

So make sure you look your best before you stagger up the aisle from your seat and thank the crew for getting to your destination safely, as the love of your life could be bidding you farewell.

In the post, the flight attendant explained: "There's the Cheerio game you can play when passengers disembark.

"When you're standing there going 'buh-bye, thank you, take care' etc when you see someone you fancy, you say 'Cheerio'. You need to do it with a buddy and the challenge is to keep a straight face."

So as well as being a very British way of saying goodbye, it seems that 'Cheerio' can also double as a way to casually voice your romantic interest in someone in the skies.
